Slaves to sin

To willingly bring ourselves back to being enslaved to what Jesus has willingly set us free from, makes me question our true understanding of redemption. We know the story of redemption so well. The story of Jesus offering up Himself to be sin for us [even though we were the real sinners], just so we could be set free from SIN itself. We acknowledge his death with our mouths, but our lifestyles speak otherwise. That is why my prayer every single day is; Lord, bring me to understand the story of redemption. The story of you redeeming me back to yourself through your death. Because if I truly understood the lengths you went through for the expense of my  sin, I wouldn’t continue to give myself to things that only end in death and destruction. Galatians 5:1 says: “Stand fast in the liberty where Christ has set you free, and do not be entangled anymore in the yoke of bondage.” — how do we stand? By taking heed to the scriptures, by allowing the redemptive power in the blood change us for the better. By daily asking God to uproot every carnal nature in us, and to give us His spirit. Look, i’d be lying if i said living right was easy. It’s not…but it is extremely possible only through CHRIST. Nobody wants to be a slave to sin because it makes you feel further away from God, it brings feelings of guilt, condemnation and unworthiness. Therefore, if sin is something you feel enslaved to, simply cry out to God and ask Him to help you choose obedience to His truth, rather than obedience to your flesh. The Bible says: “with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” [Romans 10:10]. The more we confess our inability to live right on our own, and ask for Gods mercy, the faster we will begin to see a change. For it is God who works in us, both to will and do of His good pleasure. [Philippians 2:13]. Amen❤️
