You don’t have to sexualize yourself to be beautiful!

Touching on this subject is honestly like talking to brick walls. LOL. Females who fall into this category always feel like they are being targeted, attacked  or hated on when they are told they are worth more than their half naked pictures on social media. Its pretty unfortunate, that some women feel the need to seek attention or feel a sense of validation through being overly revealing. The tough truth is; if a 1000 likes and comments can simply cause you to feel like you exist or you’re worth something, your perception of worth is all the way backwards.

It breaks my heart to see some of these beautiful women lower their standards just for mere likes and comments. Being the social worker than I am, I like to look deeper than the surface of things. I feel like maybe the core reason for this, stems from not receiving the right positive attention growing up, rebelling against society, alongside having gone through a traumatic experience at a young age that has left a scar causing one to use their body for attention, or just feeling entirely broken beyond fixing. Do not get me wrong, I am in no way speaking from a judgmental outlook. I’m just speaking from a place of love, and the lens in which I view how they act, how they respond to their comments and likes, or the lengths in which they reach to be noticed. I don’t know what might be going on in their minds, but I find it very hard to believe a woman who is overly sexual on social media is happy with herself when all is said and done. I’m sure deep down, she would want to feel beautiful in more respectable ways.

I just want to encourage women who can relate, to seek their worth outside of promoting sexual images of themselves. The Bible says in 1st Corinthians 6:19-20 :

1 Corinthians 6:19-20(NIV)

19″ Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Believe me when I say, this is more than just a “religious” perspective. To fully understand that your body belongs to God, and should be honored accordingly is so deep. He died on the cross to set US all free from using what was created so beautifully by God to honor the enemy and not the creator himself.

I also want to encourage women, never feel like you’re not worthy enough to approach God because you may be living a life contrary to how God wants you to live. Always remember that he can use ANYONE. No matter how stained, bruised or broken you may be. You’re treasure before him.

Who said your worth was found in a reflection of a mirror and how many people acknowledge you for your body, know that your TRUE worth is found in the reflection of Christ!
